I teach IB English A: Language and Literature, with most of my work centred on Paper 1, HL essay planning and Individual Oral practice. I tend to start with the text in front of us rather than a long lecture, then build the analysis from there. I’ve worked with students who are strong speakers but vague writers, and others who know the quotes but struggle to shape an argument. I also check past paragraphs carefully, so lessons stay tied to the student’s real writing.

Hi, I’m an IB English tutor and I mainly help students who feel a bit lost with literary analysis. My lessons are usually practical: we annotate, compare, rewrite a paragraph, then talk about what the examiner is actually looking for. I like teaching poetry and global issues for the IO, but I’m just as happy working through Paper 1 line by line.
